Ho Chi Minh City, June 18, 2024 – Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (HoSE: CTD) in partnership with Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Long An Province and Dong Tam Company held a Press Conference to announce the launch of the third season of GreenUP Marathon – Long An Half Marathon 2024 with the message “Run beyond the finish line”.

The running event is expected to attract more than 4,000 athletes to participate in Can Giuoc District, Long An Province on August 24, 2024, with 3 distances: 5km – 10km – 21km.

Accordingly, the Organizing Committee offers a special prize, which is an airplane ticket and a ticket to participate in the Laguna Phuket Marathon, taking place in Thailand in 2025 for the First Male – First Female position at the 21km distance.

The first marathon to cross an international port in Vietnam

Keeping the criteria of a unique running route, GreenUP Marathon season 3 gives athletes a different experience with a unique running route – through Long An International Port, the export and import center of the Mekong Delta region, or a chance to admire the tallest flagpole in Indochina with a windy view of the Soai Rap river channel, opening to the majestic East Sea.

On this occasion, we will bring the sacred moment of the flag-raising ceremony on the opening morning of the event, before performing Expo activities, exhibitions and distributing BIBs.

Experience the Mekong Delta culture

On the 10km and 21km running routes, runners will be able to enjoy the natural scenery of the Southwest: a country road with nipa palm trees, shrimp farms, jars, and palanquins on the side of the road. At the same time, typical cultural features, such as amateur music, traditional drum performances by Binh An drum craft artisans at the exhibition area and at the finish line, are the unique points that the Organizing Committee brings to the participating athletes joining this year’s season.

The GreenUp Marathon showcases the green building sector’s innovations

With the message “Run beyond the finish line”“, GreenUP Marathon: Long An Half Marathon 2024 season 03 is not only associated with the journey of green commitment and spreading a sustainable lifestyle to be able to conquer the finish line but also has meaning: No matter in business or life, everyone has different “Finish lines”. The finish line is the end and also the start of new journeys. Therefore, running does not necessarily mean leading or winning. Medals are not everything. The most important thing is to focus on the inner self, consistency, endurance, maintaining a stable “pace”, working together to achieve goals, and create new, more challenging ones.

The year 2024 marks the 20-year milestone of Coteccons. As one of the top 5 leading construction enterprises, Coteccons will continue to steadfastly implement the goal of integrity and transparency, bringing sustainable values to the community and society, accompanying and sharing our “race” of development, so that there will never be any “finish line”.

Mr. Bolat Duisenov, Chairman of the BOD, shared about the message “Run beyond the finish line” at the conference

Mr. Bolat Duisenov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Coteccons, shared: “Through the running event, we want to convey new things about Coteccons and our partners. Inside is the spirit of progress, daring to confront, ready to step forward with the will to overcome challenges, and the desire to succeed. Outside is community service associated with sustainable values. Coteccons people are in the race to create a new type of construction company. The winner is not the one who takes everything; the winner is the one who can bring along as many associates and partners to succeed and progress together. That is the image of “Industry Leader” that we pursue.

And the last message I want to share is to keep the spirit of a Runner: like a silver bullet, once leaving the barrel of the gun, just aim for the goal with the best efforts from the smallest things. Crossing the finish line helps us realize that nothing is impossible. That is the spirit of the “Green” defenders of this planet.”

The cooperation between Coteccons and Tuoi Tre Newspaper begins with a common vision of commitment to practicing ESG in operations, working towards building a prosperous and sustainable Vietnam. Tuoi Tre Newspaper is one of the leading media units in calling for and encouraging activities towards sustainable development. Recently, Tuoi Tre Newspaper has launched and implemented the “Green Vietnam” Project with many communication activities and events, such as: Green Vietnam Forum, My Green City; “Green Regeneration” Contest. The “Green Factory” tour program, Green Vietnam Festival, seminars, running events, Workshops, etc., take place throughout 2024.

Mr. Trần Xuân Toàn, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuổi Trẻ Newspaper

“Tuoi Tre newspaper officially launched and implemented the “Green Vietnam” project in April with the purpose of raising awareness and promoting action for the community, agencies, and businesses in protecting the environment, developing a circular economy, and reducing emissions. The GreenUp Marathon is also one of the activities within the framework of the Green Vietnam project. Besides the message of maintaining healthy exercise habits, the running event helps spread a green lifestyle to the community through images of steps towards a beautiful, sustainable future. This is a non-profit event, the athletes’ steps will contribute more trees to tree planting activities, increasing the green space of the Organizing Committee” – shared Mr. Tran Xuan Toan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper.

The representatives at the conference

GreenUP Marathon: Long An Half Marathon 2024 continues to inherit the green vision of the previous two seasons: continuing to reuse equipment at the construction site, making medals from recycled materials, and making running shirts from eco-friendly materials. At the same time, we will also commit to planting trees and primary forests in Quang Tri province (an expected 11,000 trees per province) after the event. At the same time, GreenUP Marathon 2024 will accompany Long An province in taking care of children through practical and meaningful activities.

At the Shareholders’ Day event on September 20, 2025, Coteccons’ Chairman – Mr. Bolat Duisenov delivered candid insights on the company’s strategy and long-term vision, beginning with three keywords that he believes will shape not only the construction sector but also the trajectory of Vietnam’s economy in the decades ahead.  On September 20, 2025, Coteccons held its Annual Shareholders’ Day at the construction site of the APEC Convention Center project in Phu Quoc.  Opening the dialogue, Chairman Bolat Duisenov outlined an ambitious 20-year vision for Coteccons, aligned with the country’s development, beginning with the keyword Urbanization. He highlighted that with Vietnam’s current urbanization rate at 40%, the nation stands at a similar stage to where China was two decades ago. This not only signals vast growth potential but also presents significant opportunities for the construction industry to shape an integrated infrastructure ecosystem — spanning roads, bridges, airports, hospitals, and schools.  Continuing on the growth trajectory, Mr. Bolat emphasized the theme of Industrialization. Vietnam is emerging as a regional “industrial hub,” attracting over 60% of total FDI into manufacturing and high-tech sectors. With advantages in a young and skilled workforce, strategic geographic location, and strong government support, well-prepared and capable construction companies are positioned to seize this golden opportunity.  The final cornerstone of the strategic vision is Globalization. As Vietnam’s position on the international stage continues to strengthen, Coteccons is boldly venturing into the vast ocean.
