Coteccons Pioneers Deployment of the International-Standard Workday HR Platform for Over 4,000 Construction Personnel
HO CHI MINH CITY, August 6, 2026 — Construction Joint Stock Company Coteccons (HoSE: CTD) has officially rolled out the Workday human resources management platform for more than 4,000 employees, becoming the first construction company in Vietnam to adopt this platform. The event marks an important milestone in Coteccons' human resource management transformation journey, aimed at building a transparent, connected, and people-centered HR platform aligned with international standards.

The event was attended by Mr. Bolat Duisenov, Chairman of Coteccons' Board of Directors; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Human Capital Director; Mr. Doan Hai Nam, CEO of VSOL; Mr. Spencer Lin, Head of Workday Consulting at Rolling Arrays; and Coteccons employees attending both online and in person.
"To go far, you must find the balance between systems and people"
Speaking at the "Go-Live Workday" ceremony, Mr. Bolat Duisenov, Chairman of Coteccons' Board of Directors, said that sustainable development requires a business to rely not solely on people or on systems, but to find the balance between the two.

He said this is also how Coteccons answers three major questions on its development journey.
- First, how can Coteccons always be the client's next choice — not only completing a client's first project, but being entrusted with a second, a third, and more?
- Second, how can Coteccons become the choice of talent? Every day, the company must create an environment where people want to contribute, want to create value, and are proud to say they work at Coteccons.
- Third, how can Coteccons diversify its sources of growth to build a foundation for sustainable development in the future?
According to Mr. Bolat, whether discussing clients, talent, or growth, the starting point is always people.
"Why do we come to work? Coteccons is a people-centered company. But we are all human — we all have strengths, weaknesses, and our own biases. Relying on trust between individuals alone is not enough."
He noted that projects typically last 24–36 months, during which engineers live, work, and share countless experiences together on site. However, for the business to grow sustainably, it cannot operate on personal relationships alone — it needs the support of a transparent, well-defined system and process.
"This is a question we have been asking ourselves for years. Today, the official rollout of the Workday platform is one of our answers. This is not just a tool for the HR or administrative departments — it's a platform that helps solve challenges across the entire organization, benefiting everyone in the company."
However, Mr. Bolat stressed that adopting a new system does not mean change at any cost.
Every new process brings both opportunities and challenges. "What matters is not changing the system at any cost, but finding the balance between system and people. Only when we find that balance can Coteccons truly become an environment where talent can thrive."

The event marks an important milestone in Coteccons' human resource management transformation journey
What is Workday, and how will it change the way more than 4,000 Coteccons employees work?
Ahead of "Go-Live Workday," many Coteccons staff wondered: Is Workday easy to use? Will this platform really make a difference in day-to-day work?
According to project representatives, the answer will come from each employee's own experience once the system is officially in operation.
With an intuitive interface, Workday is designed as a centralized HR management platform that connects all people and organizational data on a single system. Employees can access it via website or mobile app using their company email account to track HR-related tasks, receive task notifications, apply for leave, and carry out various other HR functions.
But Workday's greatest value lies not simply in digitizing HR processes. Once HR data is standardized and updated in real time, the company can manage its workforce on a single platform across every project and every market.
For each employee, Workday also opens up a new way of working: proactively accessing information, managing one's own career journey, and connecting with the entire organization on one platform.
This is not merely the rollout of a software system — it is a step in Coteccons' long-term transformation roadmap to strengthen organizational capability, support the "Go Global" strategy, develop "Build Tech" capabilities, and realize the Human-Hearted Company vision, a culture centered on people.
The Workday rollout is also one of the pillars supporting Coteccons' FY2027 theme: "Discipline — From Growth to Quality Growth."
Exploring Coteccons' "digital brain": Master Workday in 4 steps, in just minutes
The Workday platform has been praised for its user-friendly, intuitive interface. Coteccons representatives introduced the following steps for using it:
Step 1: Log in and update your personal profile
Employees can log in via the website or mobile app using their company email. After selecting "View Profile," users can view all their personal and work information — labor contract, salary and bonuses, allowances, leave days, and performance review results — on one centralized, secure platform.
Step 2: Understand your place in the organization
Through the "Teams" section, employees can view the organizational chart, their direct manager, colleagues within their unit, and the structure of other departments, making collaboration and connection easier.

Step 3: Handle tasks quickly
Workday integrates a Notifications and Tasks area to remind employees of pending items. In addition, the search bar and "..." icon allow quick access to features such as leave requests, payslips, and other HR tasks.
Step 4: Search for colleagues across the entire system
Using just the search bar, employees can look up colleagues' information, job titles, projects, reporting structures, and organizational charts — making it easier to collaborate and take a more proactive approach to career development.
The hands-on demonstration at the "Go-Live Workday" event introduced only a fraction of Workday's many features. Going forward, the project team will continue supporting staff through guidance materials, training programs, and a dedicated support team, helping everyone quickly master the platform and make Workday part of their daily work.

"Go-Live Workday" is just the beginning: the biggest challenge is changing management mindset
Following the platform walkthrough, the "Go-Live Workday" event continued with a panel discussion centered on one recurring message: Workday is not simply software — it represents a shift in how Coteccons manages its human resources.
The Workday rollout also marks Coteccons' transition from traditional management to data-driven management. But "Go-Live Workday" is only the starting point. What lies ahead for Coteccons after this milestone? Will the greatest challenge be technology, or a shift in people's mindset and behavior?
The Q&A session featured Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Human Capital Director at Coteccons; Mr. Doan Hai Nam, CEO of VSOL; and Mr. Spencer Lin, Head of Workday Consulting at Rolling Arrays.
Below are the key points from the discussion:
Why did Coteccons choose Workday?
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, the first question Chairman Bolat asked at the start of the project was simple: "Why do we need Workday?"
Ms. Huong said the answer lies in Coteccons' growth rate.
"In roughly two years, the company's scale has nearly doubled. Coteccons now has more than 4,000 engineers, and that number will keep growing in the years ahead. To grow sustainably, everyone from management to staff needs to work from the same data source, understand the same HR processes, and execute with discipline."
Workday was chosen because it is designed with user experience at its core, featuring an intuitive, user-friendly interface that allows employees to quickly get up to speed after training sessions.
From the implementation partner's perspective, Mr. Spencer Lin, Head of Workday Consulting at Rolling Arrays, said that if he had to describe the Coteccons project team in one word, he would choose "Agility."
He said what impressed him most was the team's ability to adapt quickly, combined with a constant focus on the end goal: helping the business operate faster and more efficiently.

4 months of implementation: Conquering KPIs through "Own It" and "One Team" spirit
Behind the "Go-Live Workday" milestone lies a four-month journey that several project members described as a "sprint." According to Mr. Doan Hai Nam, CEO of VSOL (a Coteccons Group member company), the project team proposed delaying the timeline three separate times during implementation.
The workload was enormous, and the four-month deadline was widely seen as nearly unfeasible — not just for Coteccons, but by market standards, where Workday projects typically take at least a year.
Even so, driven by the "Own It" spirit and a shared sense of commitment, the team decided to push forward and completed the project on schedule.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, that decision clearly reflects Coteccons' "Own It" culture — getting things done no matter what. Once leadership committed that Workday had to go live at the very start of FY2027 in order to set up the new KPI system in time, every team member treated that goal as their own personal responsibility, rather than something belonging solely to HR or IT.
At times, project teams held back-to-back meetings, reviewing processes and fine-tuning every detail to stay on schedule. "Chị Hương, could you spare just an hour or two to review this process for me?" were the kinds of calls that came in regularly throughout the four months.
If "Own It" reflects each individual's commitment to seeing the goal through, "One Team" was the force that carried the project to the finish line. According to Ms. Huong, the Human Capital department, IT, VSOL, and partner Rolling Arrays stopped operating as separate units and instead functioned as one unified team. This was also the strongest impression left on Mr. Spencer Lin.
"There was a spirit of collaboration running through everyone involved. We had many productive conversations and discussions, all aimed at one shared goal — making Coteccons' business and operational performance as strong and as fast as possible," Mr. Spencer shared. He also praised the Coteccons team for its ability to adapt quickly, make decisive calls, and coordinate effectively throughout the implementation.
That spirit also showed up in decisions that went beyond convention. According to Mr. Doan Hai Nam, one of the biggest challenges in deploying global HR management systems in Vietnam is payroll calculation. VSOL made what he called a "crazy decision": to proactively build a Payroll module and integrate it into the Workday system, digitizing the entire payroll process.
As a result, in roughly four months, Coteccons completed "Go-Live Workday" on schedule. According to Mr. Nam, Coteccons' speed has set a "new norm" for the industry.

After "Go-Live Workday," the biggest challenge is changing management mindset
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, "Go-Live Workday" is not the destination — it's only the starting point.
Coteccons' goal is not just to launch a new system, but to change how the company manages people.
Workday will help every employee understand their position, the standards for each level, and what they need to develop to advance to the next role. Meanwhile, managers will have full access to data for more transparent analysis, evaluation, and team development.
Mr. Spencer Lin agreed, adding that the clearest changes will emerge after 3–6 months, once Workday becomes the unified platform for tracking goals, evaluating progress, and developing the capabilities of both individuals and the organization as a whole.
Asked about the challenges ahead after "Go-Live Workday," Ms. Huong said the biggest challenge would no longer be technology.
"The next challenge is change management. In the past, we were used to working manually. From now on, we need to change our mindset and shift toward data-driven management instead of relying on gut feeling."
Closing the discussion, she shared a final message: "Today is only the beginning." A system is only as good as the value people create by using it. "I hope Workday will help us understand our people better, manage our human resources more effectively, and contribute together to sustainable, people-centered development."
Over 2,000 logins in the first hour of "Go-Live Workday": Coteccons begins its Workday journey

Number of app downloads and logins in the first hour of the "Go-Live Workday" event
At the event, organizers announced a notable milestone: more than 2,000 successful app downloads and logins to Workday within the first hour of "Go-Live Workday."
This is more than just a statistic — it's evidence of the Coteccons team's readiness on its journey to build a more connected, more transparent, and more efficient organization.
Going forward, the project team will continue tracking system usage, with the goal of having 100% of Coteccons staff fully adopt Workday as the company's unified management platform.
Following "Go-Live Workday," Coteccons will continue rolling out Workday group-wide in two phases:
- Phase 1B — six months, adding advanced modules to optimize resources, including training, recruitment, in-depth management, workforce planning, data analytics, an employee listening tool (Peakon), and payroll system integration.
- Phase 2 — more than three months, completing the HR management system for member companies within the group and bringing Coteccons onto one unified HR management system.
More than "Go-Live Workday" — Coteccons begins a long-term partnership journey
The "Go-Live Workday" event closed with a gift exchange between Coteccons, Workday, and Rolling Arrays — a token of appreciation for the months of partnership throughout the digital transformation project.
Representing Coteccons, Ms. Nguyen Trinh Thuy Trang, Deputy CEO of Operations, and Mr. Doan Hai Nam, CEO of VSOL, presented both partners with the painting "Purple Flower Field" by artist To Ngoc.
According to the organizers, the painting is a sincere thank-you to Workday and Rolling Arrays for their dedication and effort throughout the project, as well as a wish for the continued strength of the partnership and future milestones to come.

Coteccons presents a keepsake gift to its partners at the close of the event
In return, representatives from Workday and Rolling Arrays presented Coteccons with the painting "Ha Long Bay," depicting sails catching the wind as they head out to open sea.
The gift carries a message of trust, partnership, and the aspiration to go further. According to both partners, digital transformation is not a journey for a single company or technology provider to undertake alone — it can only succeed when built on a foundation of sustainable collaboration and shared long-term goals.
Workday has officially gone live, but for Coteccons, this is only the beginning of a longer journey — one toward building a modern, transparent, people-centered organization.
Throughout this journey, employees will continue to receive support through multiple channels, including guides, training videos, and training courses.
