COTECCONS JOINS HO CHI MINH CITY IN BUILDING A SAFETY CULTURE

In response to the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) 2026, Coteccons is partnering with the People’s Committee and Department of Home Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City to spread a safety culture, aiming for safe, sustainable workplaces that put people at the center.

This year’s Action Month is implemented under Plan No. 11562 of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Plan No. 96 of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. The 2026 theme emphasizes innovation in management, strengthening the application of science and technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence in occupational risk prevention.

At the launch ceremony, Vice Chairman Nguyen Manh Cuong stressed that economic growth only has meaning when accompanied by the protection of workers’ lives, health, rights, and legitimate interests. He stated: “A safe working environment not only helps reduce occupational accidents and diseases but also builds trust, strengthens labor discipline, enhances workforce quality, increases productivity, business efficiency, and the competitiveness of the urban economy.”

In response to the Action Month on OSH, Coteccons organized the launch ceremony with an interactive booth and exhibition on occupational safety. At construction sites nationwide, the safety message is integrated into weekly meetings to continue spreading safety culture. During the Action Month, Coteccons also participates in roundtables chaired by the Department of Home Affairs to listen to workers’ recommendations and share practical experiences in applying technology to safety management at construction sites.

Mr. Kostyantyn Mykhaylyk stated: “As an Industry Leader, Coteccons is committed to maintaining safe workplaces throughout, leading the construction sector with worker-centered projects such as the ‘Building Tet’ program. Coteccons pledges to accompany Ho Chi Minh City authorities in raising safety standards, ensuring safe working environments for every worker in the city.”

For Coteccons, occupational safety is not only a compliance requirement but also a foundation to ensure progress, quality, and stability of construction projects. On site, safety is placed on par with progress and quality, becoming a guiding principle throughout operations.

At Coteccons, safety inspection, management, and implementation are shifting from traditional methods to a system- and data-based approach, prioritizing early prevention. Building Information Modelling (BIM) is applied to visualize projects and control safety risks before construction; Formtech provides advanced scaffolding solutions to enhance safety for work at height; FaceID facial recognition supports access control in high-risk areas. Safety processes are also digitized to monitor training and operations in real time.

Alongside technical solutions, safety training is a key pillar in risk management. Coteccons organizes training for workers and engineers before entering the site and periodically during construction, helping them identify risks, comply with procedures, and form safe working habits.

In 2025, Coteccons recorded over 60 million safe working hours and more than 265,000 hours of safety training. These figures demonstrate that safety standards are consistently maintained across all projects, reflecting a data-driven management approach.

This practice is clearly demonstrated at the LEGO Vietnam Factory project, where safety requirements form the foundation of site organization and management. The project, with about 4,500 workers, applies risk control from the design stage, standardizes safety requirements across the contractor ecosystem, and limits working hours to no more than 60 per week to protect workers’ health.

Le Bao Minh Corporation organized instant photo printing for delegates and workers attending the program.

In addition to construction enterprises, this year’s Action Month also sees the participation of dozens of units across various sectors. Ms. Doan Hong Ngoc, Head of Marketing at Le Bao Minh, shared that joining the Action Month on OSH is a way for the company to continue spreading the spirit of putting people at the center, contributing to workers’ mental well-being and motivation through meaningful, humanistic activities.

The Action Month on OSH 2026 will continue to spread across Ho Chi Minh City with communication activities in 168 wards, communes, and districts; workshops and seminars; inspection and supervision of OSH practices; and gift-giving programs for workers injured in occupational accidents with difficult circumstances. Through these efforts, the program contributes to building safer, more sustainable, and more humane workplaces for workers.
